i live in indiana and received the following message on my email.
how do i protect myself? and what would you do if you received an email like this?

An investigation has revealed that you have been using my name unlawfully in different venues. This will be your only warning. Remove my name at once from all the places that you have listed it as your own. I am aware of the different places that you have used my name and I will check to see if they have been removed within 48 hours.

If you do not remove my name from places that you have listed it as your own, then:

1) I will immediately file charges against you with the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana and you will be prosecuted in federal court for fraud and solicitation

2) civil charges of defamation, libel, slander, and civil fraud will be filed against you in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana

3) witnesses will be subpoenaed to testify against your credibility in civil cases that you currently have pending in Indiana state court

I am working with law enforcement and I highly suggest you heed my warning.

Why did you just put this person's name on this site? Don't try to fight fire with fire!

What you do is go see an attorney and start there. IF this person is serious, be glad you found a lawyer. If this person is kidding, your lawyer can sue for many things like harassment, some type of attempted cyberstalking?
