My friend is a teacher in a private school in FLORIDA. She has an extensive web site hosted by Yahoo/GeoCities where she has math activities, worksheets, quizzes, etc. for her students. One or more students in the school hacked into the web site by using her username and password without the teachers permission. The student(s) typed profanity about the teacher and her family. The student(s) directed many untrue statements about the teacher that were extremely hurtful and harmful to her reputation as a teacher. She is concerned and would like to know if there is any legal recourse she can take towards the student(s) once she finds out their identity. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Okay, this teacher needs to immediately hire an attorney ASAP -- Intellectual Property Attorney who can help trace the Internet protocols back to the originator.
