What is the name of your state? Arizona

My grandfather recently had my parents removed from their home (which was in my grandfather's name) with an order of protection from the courts. The case has yet to be heard, and in the days before the trial I have found him going through their belongings.

My grandfather was attempting to hide from my brother and I (who were not evicted with our parents) what he was doing, going through their items in a pitch dark room with a flashlight he would quickly turn off if he heard someone coming.

My question is this: is it illegal for my grandfather to be searching through the belongings of my parents before the case is even heard in court? What is the name of your state?
