What is the name of your state?Massachusetts.
I am an owner of a townhouse in a 4 unit complex. The end unit insists on parking on the lawn. It has wrecked the grass. Today I planted new grass on my own, out of my pocket. When the owners of the end unit of the townhouse came home, they were very upset that they could not park on the lawn, due to the landscaping that I just did today. What are the options that I have??? Do I go to small claims court?? We do not have a property management company. We have an association, and I am a trustee. But that does me no good.
What do I do??

um

What do you do?

Let them park in your driveway?

Where is there else to park... why is it so limited... I agree we all want it to be pretty... but are there alternatives? Did you warn them? You might be starting a fight here that can turn ugly. Go ahead and search this forum for "angry nasty ugly terrible (insert bad adjective here) neighbors... you will see its no fun to fool with ...neighbors.

Heck I bet your neighbors post here about a fool of a neighbor who planted grass in my parking spot...Whose part of the property was it? or is it all joint owned...
OY!

They have their own parking spot, and a garage. They just dont feel like moving their cars when they have to leave. I know I dont want to start a fight with the neighbors, but yes I want to have a nice lawn. if they didnt have a garage and a parking spot, I would understand their argument. But they have a garage and a spot outside their garage. I think it is just laziness on their part.
It is considered a common area. Owned by the association.

I would not think it would be illegal, but I would think your HOA would have bylaws on property maintenance. I am also a trustee and my HOA seems to roll over and not do anything unless it affects them directly. So your biggest challenge would be to get them to enforce it. I have someone who likes to park on the line by me and continually bash the crap out of my doors, but does the HOA worry about it, nope.

I am finding that some people who live like slugs can ruin it for everyone.
