You should not post your daughters criminal issues on the net.

All you can find out is what the court or the jail will release. The jail will only give you the basics like you have now. The court may have more information - and they certainly will when/if the matter goes to trial, but, for now, they won't have much, either.

No one can possibly say what WILL happen, but, jail or prison are very likely outcomes. If dad is still in the picture, she may want to consider letting their daughter stay with dad so that her schooling will be the least disrupted if mom has to go to jail in several months.

It sounds like mom may have a number of issues going on here, none of which you can be much help with. If she has a DWI from alcohol, and has this larceny charge, I am going to guess she has a problem with alcohol and that drugs may very well be involved as well. Sure, you can try to protect her from the consequences of her actions, but if you do you would be enabling her. I would suggest you work with your daughter to make arrangements for your granddaughter to be safe and secure. Mom needs to sort out her own mess, and she may very well NEED to get slapped by the system to get her head back on straight. If she is involved in drugs, or has a serious alcohol problem, there could very well be a lot of nefarious activity that your granddaughter should not be exposed to and may well put her at risk.

In short, focus on your granddaughter. Your daughter has made her bed. You might be able to help by finding her an attorney, but other than that she has to untangle her own legal mess.
