I'm writing on behalf of my Mother who does not have a computer.
She has Durable Power of Attorney for my Grandmother. Grandmother is in a Nursing home and the DPOA holder takes care of her finances, bills and etc. Also, my Mother has the Medical Power of Attorney. My Mother has one estranged sister, (daughter of this grandmother as well)and this sister does not like the nursing home my grandmother is in because she does not like a worker there. Something very petty..but Auntie is trying to get Grandmother moved and I need to find out if my Grandmother is protected from this aunt? Grandmother is 93 and is well taken care of and likes the nursing home. She has friends there and has no complaints. My Mother is just wanting to know if she is safe from the aunt and her attempts at getting grandmother? Or, should my Mother get Guardianship in addition to the DPOA and MPOA?
Sorry this is so jumbled, but that's my family. Jumbled. The Aunt made a false report to the State Nursing home Inspectors last week and they investigated and found everything just fine. Nothing to validate the Aunt's complaints. We are just afraid that the aunt will try and be sneaky and get control of the finances and my grandmother in some way.
