What is the name of your state? California.

Started the process last July with a lawyer, on BMW that has been in and out of the shop for multiple reasons combining a month or more. I have at least 10 service orders submit.

BMW has flagged my vehicle blocking any warranty service until they ok the repair with the local dealers.

The I've asked the attorney this same question but is getting the run around. I wonder if this is just how it is or do I need a new lawyer?

The statute of limitations for filing a complaint under California’s Lemon Law is four years. A car dealer/manufacturer is allowed a “reasonable” number of repair attempts to fix what ails the vehicle.

I suggest you ask your attorney what the definition of “reasonable” would be in California for your particular vehicle and the repairs required. A year of problems seems to me a bit unreasonable.

The attorney is a lemon law office. Purchased the vehicle December 2019, reached out to them July 2020, they reviewed documents before accepted my case and said there's something to work with. Since then I've been in and out of service for repairs multiple times and that's between covid lock down where I left alot of things unresolved until I had a laundry list of items. I'm scheduled to be back in again this coming week again with another list of repairs for them.

Fwiw it started out with an erratic steering which till now is still unresolved. They claim the vehicle is driving straight when I can demonstrate to them it pulls. But I've given up on that.

I've reviewed all the qualifications for California and I'm way past that point now.

I recommend you rely on your attorney, if he is a lemon law specialist. If you don’t trust his advice and direction, you can consult with another attorney for a personal review.

Good luck.

If your attorney is giving you the runaround, then considering a new lawyer is something you ought to do.

A case can be dragged on as long as you allow. I'd suggest you contact the DMV and inquire about the dealer's bond.

Just wanted to bring this back up. Almost a year later more than 5 additional visits and another one scheduled for today but no progress.

What is this dealer's bond?

I reached out to a couple other lemon law attorney and they wanted to see the correspondence from the current attorney with the manufacture before they can say if they'll take the case.

I've requested for this both in writing and on the phone multiple times but they seem to ignore this question all together. It's almost 24 months into this and many days wasted back and forth at the service department.

What the other lemon law attorneys are requesting of you is reasonable. They will want to personally review everything before agreeing to represent you.
