Is it a violation of first ammendment rights to force a minor to go to church? The minor is 16 years of age, and he believes that it should be his own decision whether or not to take part in a religion. The parents are not taking into consideration the feelings of their child.

No, until you are 18 you are bound by your parents will and wishes...You will get to make decisions when you are 18...;)

you misunderstand the 1st amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

that doesn;t mean your parents can't make their own laws. As you enter the adult world, you will realize that the 1st amendment is not applicable when your boss tells you to shut your mouth either.

simply put, it is a restriction on the government, not the citizens of the United States.
