What is the name of your state? Tennessee My son was molested by the boy who lives next door because of the age of our son he had just turned 6 yrs old and the boy was 13 yrs old. They didn't admit his forensic interview into evidence and our son was to scared to testify so without his testimony the judge dimissed the charges. Now the boys family is harrassing us daily even with a no contact order in place. I have pictures of them coming into my yard hitting my hse. witnesses were they have cursed me and they have even sicked 2 women on me these women threatened to beat and kill me. I have made 6 police reports and noone will do anything they keep saying we are neighbors try to get along. I don't want to I want to be left alone !!!!!!!!!! I don't want their boy in my yard scaring my son at all.... !!!!!!!! Let me state the state brought the charges against this boy and are the ones who prosicuted. I was afraid to report them at all, but a friend I told about it reported it and ever since then its been a constant barrage of harrassment. I have talked to their landlord he said well I can't get involved I am not responsable for what my tenants do. I was told we were protected by section 3916 510 from persucution and harrassment for testifying for the state. Is this true and what do I do if it is ?? We can't go into our front yard except to get into our cars we use a third of our back yard since they live next door to us. Were do we turn? I am ready to sell our house and move its gotten so bad. I hope somone can help.. thanks

your ideal on moving

When you are a home owner its not so easy to just pick up and move. We do call the police each and everytime they violate the no contact order. The state brought the charges against this boy and what I was trying to find out if there are any laws that protect us from being harrassed as pay back for us testifying against them. Thanks Tammie

Sorry for the wicked reply from another poster

However, I would contact the cops, show them protection order, and all the photos and witness statements.

You might seek local legal aid (local court should have one on file) and see what an attorney for you can do. They deal a lot with domestic violence. Hate to say it, but your landlord doesn't have to enforce the order yet could tell the cops what is going on. Your lawyer will certainly get him/her to make a statement. The landlord already has made the stupid statement "he can't do anything" so he/she knows it is going on.

If you know who threatened you, I hope you reported it to the cops just so they know. If they follow you then the cops should bust them for stalking.

Since you have a lot of evidence and witnesses, I bet you could make a good case with small claims court for harrassment. If the laws are anything akin to Florida, I know you probably could. A lawyer may go against them in full civil court.

Another thought is to go to your State Attorney's office and take all your evidence with the dates of the protection order violations and ask why the cops do nothing. If he is a jerk due to your son not testifying, contact your State Attorney General.

The depending factor: how much do you want to put your child through? There are a lot of child advocate organizations that may help you move elsewhere.

The family sounds like a bunch of sickos so even the local news might put some heat on the cops to do something if you find you have no other avenues.

I agree you shouldn't have to move to get away from it, but have seen women get killed with protection orders.

so far so good

Tennessee, Well I finally lost it with the police and told them to call the District attorney at home and they did. They told the family if they came out one more time for them harrassing us they would take out a harrassment warrant if one was not taken out by the end of the week. Since then they have stayed away from us and our home. I had pictures and handed them to the police officers for everything they said they were not doing. Thanks for your advice and if they decide to start up again, I will force the harrassment warrants. I was also aviced by the officers to stand up to the District Attorney and make him do his job. Again thankyou for your advice...Tammie :)
