Hi,

I recently found out my ex-wife, who is the Sole Managing Conservator, abandoned my daughter on nine occassions in the last 10 years when my ex-wife moved to other cities and states, and left my daughter in her mother's care -- without telling me. When I confronted my ex about it, her excuse was she said she has the right to leave my daughter in the care of "a competent adult." According to our Divorce Decree, the "competent adult" clause only refers to the fact that both she and I have the right to appoint "a competent adult" to pick up and drop off my daughter during scheduled visitation periods.

Anyhow, if I can prove through the credit bureus that my ex lived at these addresses, and prove using my daughter's school records, that my daughter never lived at any of these nine addresses over the last 10 years with her mother, and if welfare finds that my ex received welfare payments for my daughter on these nine occassions is this welfare fraud? If she is found guilty of welfare fraud, what happens to my daughter?

What if she did the same thing with the Attorney General's Office. I know of at least one instance in Febuary 1997 where child support was being taken out of my paycheck, and now I found out three years later, that my ex was living in New York state for a couple of months while my daughter lived in Houston. Is this child support fraud? If so, what happens to my daughter?

Thank you!

Oh pleeeeeeeeease. You are grasping at straws and not hitting any. You say abandonment but she didn't abandon your daughter, she left her with her mother. You are trying to trump up something that isn't there and it won't hold water in court. Now if she left her in a city by herself for a week or two or with strangers I would be concerned but you just sound like a vindictive person with more time on their hands than sense. Move on with your life and remember that what goes around, comes around. Gosh, get a life.
