What is the name of your state? Minnesota
I have physical custody and share legal custody with exhusband. Ex has had the same girlfriend, now a fiance, for about 6 years now. She is NOT stepmother legally as of yet.
Needless to say, her and I do NOT get along, which is a separate issue anyway. My question is this: when it is ex's weekend, and he is out of town for hunting/fishing trip for 2 weeks and fiance wants to pick up my son to keep him for weekend, is that legal? My ex makes no prior arrangement with me about this. She comes to pick son up and just takes him to wherever they go. Aren't there any laws stating the physical custody parent has a right to know where the child is going (whether out of state or whatever)? Shouldn't arrangements be made beforehand and be approved also?
What about child conferences for school? She has participated in each school conference and commented negatively each time, making my son feel terrible. But, again, that's another issue for another time. Don't I have some say over how can participate in my son's school conference? Could I just invite some friend of mine and that would be okay?
Just looking for input here. Thanks for your support.
