I suspect he's talking about worker's comp or maybe liability insurance (don't know what the job is), not benefits....I doubt this employer even offers benefits to his admitted full time employees.

ecmst,and moburkes,yes I am naive to lots of laws,but as far as I was told and what I believe I think the boss was talking about insurance for health,I'm not sure I was just glad to have a job at the time,and they did take out taxes. Mabey he would of had to pay too many taxes if I did have 40 hours on the books instead of 30.
Well you guys did it again,I just learned some more stuff,and you answered my question(even tho it wasnt what I wanted! to hear) Im just upset that Im out of a job now,but I will get another
