What is the name of your state? WI

I just posted about collection agency trying to collect on an old hospital bill for 1800 dollars. Apparently the last activity on the acount was June 95 and so the sol has not run out. I am not necessarily disputing this bill........I know I had owed the hospital something it's just that I was dumb enough to think they charged it off since I hadn't heard anything in 10 years. I didn't even know it went to collections. Anyway, I'm not one to skip out on my responsibilities and that includes when I owe a debt.

So..... my question is ....Is it unreasonable of me to request that this woman send me something in the mail with a name and address of this collection agency and the amount owed with a breakdown of fees that they've attatched on? I've asked this woman repeatedly to send something to me in the mail and she got all nasty saying that I got something back in March of 96 ( which I didn't get) and so they've already sent something.

I don't know this woman or this collection agency from adam and I don't feel comfortable sending money to God knows where based on a phone call. She said I have until noon today to call her and take care of it or else they will sue. I already hung up on her and then 20 minutes later we got an automated voice mail from some attorney's office. All I want is some paperwork...........is that too much to ask?

Call the company and get their address. Then send a CRRR letter asking for validation of the debt. Then you will have the total, etc.

Good luck.

Wait ! SOL in WI is only SIX YEARS:

STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS (IN YEARS)
Open Acct.: 6
Written Contract: 6

If the the last payment or services were rendered in 1995, the SOL EXPIRED in 2001 !! Even better, in WI it is ILLEGAL to collect or sue on a time-barred debt.

You need to tell this collection agency to get lost, the debt is time-barred.
