What is the name of your state? fl

The court gave a judgement against me one month ago, for CC debt.
I have not heard anything from the attorneys who filed suit against me. Does anyone know what they may be up to and what their process against me would be after they got their judgement.

My response:

Why? So you can avoid paying your debt?

Fat chance, pal.

Well more than likely they are checking your credit, doing an asset search and checking for employment records so they can decide what their best course of action is to collect their money.

Now that they have the judgment, they can pursue any legal means possible in your state to collect the amount owed.

Oh, and you can expect the amount to go up as it will now have added court costs, attorneys fees, judgment interest and any other applicable collection fees.

Some of the things they can pursue, if they are legal in your state include:

Liens against your home and other personal property

Liens against autmobiles or other high value assets

Seizure of your bank accounts

Garnishment of your paycheck and etc.

I am not sure what all they can do in Fl. But if I were you, I wouldn't relax just yet.

Please excuse the other poster, he is having a prolonged temper tantrum!

Thanks for reply zippy. Do you know how garnishment would work if you make commision in a lump sum every once in a while. For instance if you
get a check for 5k 3 months into the year, how do they figure what they can take from that check.

When a garnishment is put in place, your employer is notified and your employer must comply with the calculations put in place by your state's statutes.
