What is the name of your state?okay this is a two part? i had a judgment against me and i paid the debt of and it is still showing up on my credit report, is the ca responsible for removing it or do i have to file with trans union to have it removed, but since they put it there shouldn't they remove it ,, second question i have an old credit card and IM sure sol has ran out on the card, card expired in 1994 but it has been to many ca and passed on i now look at my report and it show up on there and it says date account closed 4/2001 but it was closed way back in 1994 last activity by me on this card, so question is, is it legal for them to claim a new date just cause they bought old debt and don't want to lose out of the money  , but since they gambled and bought a bad debt that comes with the territory there fault for not checking it out first, they even got me down as pay in up to date in 1999 when i dang well know it wasn't and i never did since 1994, and the original company colonial national bank doesn't even show up on the credit report, what and how do i get them to remove that false report

**The judgment should say it is paid/satisfied. Just because you pay it doesn't mean it will go away. It can stay on there for a full 10 years. However, you can dispute it with TransUnion and see if it comes off. If it comes back verified, get a procedural request to see how they verified. It may or may not come off that way. Do everything by mail and send it certified mail return receipt.

**It can only stay on there for 7 years from the date of last activity (when the account was defaulted on).

Send a letter to the CA, certified mail return receipt, asking for full and proper validation of the alleged debt (original written agreement with your signature, accounting of the amount owed, and proof they are legally entitled to collect it. When you get the green card back, dispute with the applicable credit bureaus, certified mail return receipt. This puts the CA on a 30 day time line and it may get deleted this way.
