What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Washington. So, I live in Washington State, but I'm having difficulties with the police in the state of Virginia. I was accused of stalking someone from Virginia, even though I haven't been to Virginia since 1996. Twice the police there cited Virginia state laws, but would it not be federal? The last time I spoke with an officer on the phone, he told me that if I ever contacted this person again, he would get a warrant for my arrest. My technical question is, would he be getting the warrant from the prosecuting attorney and judge in Virginia, or Washington State? The police are not being upfront with me, and yesterday I sent an email to the officer who threatened me with the warrant. I have had no contact with the man who accused me of stalking him, but the police are holding this over my head. He also told me not to ever contact their chief of police again, because I sent him two letters. I am not concerned that I am ever going to contact the man again, even though it was a false accusation. I am concerned that the police are going to pull a fast one on me and get me arrested, anyway.
