What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
I work for a utility company in NJ and DE and had an interesting call today.
My customer today called to turn off her electric which struck me as odd since it's only been on about a month.
She continued to expand the story (you might be surprised what I hear in a day) she stated that the judge had forced her to move back to PA so that the kids could be enrolled in school by their 9/8 start date, that she had moved out of state with her three kids with out consent from her ex husband.
The judge gave her 10 days to vacate her current DE residence and be back in her school system and area with in that time period, or surrender the children to her ex. She lost her 1000 security deposit on her new place and need another 1200 security deposit for her new PA residence. A foolish move that could have been avoided has cost her thousands in relocation costs not to mention she quit her job in PA and was now employed in DE and has to make the commute everyday until this is resolved.
I just wanted to put this out here so those who are asking if they can move with out consent of the other party realize that there is a bigger picture, these kids have been uprooted to a new home, settled, ready to go to a new school, and then ripped out of their new home, and put back in their old school. I am sure from the sounds of it things are not real friendly right now between the parents, so the kids have that to deal with as well.
The judge can and evidently will bring you back. I thought this was interesting...
