Just an update for those who responded to the above thread. Hunter had his first overnight with daddy last night. He came home happy and healthy and all was fine (Hunter said, "I love you mama" for the first time). The funniest part was when daddy had to wake up at 6:00am (he doesn't usually wake up before noon) to start a very exhausting day! We are going to do a longer visit next week. Mommy finally got to sleep in and also finish a Patricia Cornwell and a Tami Hoag!!!! Thank you to all for the advice! :) I feel much better about overnights now!

Don't be surprized....lol...if DAD decides that the child isn't ready for overnights yet.

We'll see how dad does on his first full weekend!!! lol! Typically, Hunter wakes up at 6:00am EVERY day ! I was a little sad that my baby hasn't asked for his "hungy" yet, but, weaning has turned out easier than I had anticipated!

Good job, Hunter AND Hunter's Mom!!! What a little man he's turning into, eh? Yes, it's a little bittersweet, but trust me that what is yet to come will be just as wonderful. My "baby" is 13 with hands that don't fit the rest of him and a voice that's cracking all over the place. :D But he still gives his Mom hugs and whispers "I love you Mommy" when he thinks noone else can hear.

I am actually really good friends with my ex, and my ex's girlfriend. They have a 4 year old who was premature (seriously) and who was breastfed....and who absolutely refused to take anything but the breast even when he was 14 months old....he actually developed serious anemia which almost killed him and resulted in him being hospitalized until he would eat solid food....it took almost two weeks and even after the baby went home it was tough. If your child is doing ok then count your blessings.....and let dad learn what it is like to deal with a baby/toddler who is NOT happy.

Can't we just bottle up our little ones and keep them babies forever? :) I'm glad that he didn't have a hard time without nursing, I was so worried! I'm sure that when he's 21 and graduating from Harvard, I'll still be worrying about him! LOL
