What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Alabama

My ex husband did something when he was about 12, already served his time but moved to Texas where his crime is more serious. Is it too late to fight his case? He was never read his rights, his parents were not present and he did not have an attorney they just had him sign a confession. Is that enough to have his case looked at again because he has been done with parole for a year but this is holding him back and his public defender said that since he was a juvy his record should have been sealed but it wasn't. sounds like your husband need to head to that court, or an attorney's office to get that expunged/sealed.

they don't automatically seal anything just because the criminal turned 18. i don't think anyone has someone on staff looking for that stuff.

Yes, it is to late. He would need a lawyer anyway, the court would not supply one for such a situation.goodluck.

He was 12 when he committed the crime. He served his time. He is now over the age of 18 and he is already YOUR ex husband? Yet he just got off of parole a year ago? What the heck did he do? Was he charged as an adult?
