I am from the Caribbean, my fiancee is a USC in the Military. I have a B1/B2 visa of which i use to visit the US.
We were wondering, should we apply for the K-1 visa or just get married in the US and have her file for me after the marriage since i would now be staying in the US? Just looking for the benefits of the options. Hoping to hear from you. Many thanks.

Sure thing. So far I am opting to do the K-1 visa stuff. Since it would show that u intend to marry, and get over that proving hurdle, as against marrying and having to prove that the marriage is real and all that stuff.
But hoping for some advice here.

and you would be spot on.. there is always a risk, no matter how small, that marrying someone whilst on a tourist visa can be considered vise fraud. After all, you entered the US with the 'promise' of leaving. Then you marry and ask to stay.. Although, from what I have seen, if you are in a bonofid marriage then the risk of being deported is small.

However, if you want true ease of mind, then you go via the K1 .. and have I got a site for you.. 3 years work built on hundreds of peoples experience..

Thanks much for the advice and the website which i have looked at....very interesting.

However, at present i not considering entering the US to marry with a visitors visa. Hence the reason to do the K-1 way. I would stay in the caribbean until she file the documents etc. I believe in the proper way since we r not that desperate as yet.
thanks again for the advice
