It seems everyday brings something new to get wound up about just when you think everything is getting a little normal again.
The assistant DA the one I had words with early on called & said he wanted to start establishing a relationship with my daughter & wanted to pick her up from school & take her to his office & talk with her & bring her home.
I told him I wasn't comfortable with that but I would bring her to him which I did.
I am so glad I did, while they were in the conference room the attorney for the defendant went up to the secretary & ask for someone & she said they weren't in.
Then he walks over to the door of the room where the DA & my daughter were talking & acted like he was looking at something on the wall.
I went & knocked on the door & the DA came out & saw him & ask what he wanted & he pointed at me & said he knocked not me.
Then he looked at me & said OH! you thought I was listening & I replied it looked that way to me.
The DA down played the whole thing.
I am convinced since his secretary didn't say anything to him that he would have stood there & listened all he wanted.
And they keep telling me not to talk to anyone & they can't even police their own office.
I don't know what I was thinking I thought I was going to meet this attorney that would be representing my daughter & now I am told that he the assistant DA is who will prosecute the case ( MAN AM I LUCKY OR WHAT ? )
I don't claim to know much about law but that was a shock especially considering what happened at the bond reduction hearing when he yelled at me & told me I would not tell him how to do his job.
He was also the one talking about a plea & how they had lost their last 3 cases.
He acts like he is taking it to court & now says he is not sure yet if he will put the two cases together or try them seperately.
It would seem to me like it would be better to do both charges at one trial I would think 2 charges would be better than one ( BUT WHAT DO I KNOW )
He also said I had the right to have my own DNA tests done on the clothes in question but he would prefer that I wait until after the trial.??? Wouldn't that be double jepardy ??? if he has alreaady been tried he can't be tried for the same crime again so what good would it do me then ??
It's my understanding they only tested for semen on one article of clothing & I gave them 6 items & Idon't even know which item was tested.
I thought they could test for saliva, hair or anything else that might prove he had been where he shouldn't be
