I live in Texas. If the police send something off to a lab for testing. The results, if they come back negative, do they have to tell you or do you have to file something requesting to see the results?

You can see it in court, or your attorney can request the results via discovery before court.

Check with the court. I am not sure on the rules for Discovery in TX. An improper request for discovery will result in no response, and many people who do this make errors. If you are going to have to defend yourself in court, you will have an attorney anyway - you might consider waiting until then.

Also, if no charges have been filed, there is no discovery to request.

I would think that most people know what the results are going to say before they even take the test. After all, it's not rocket science,,,, more like a simple math formula.

For example:
A = Consuming drugs B = Not consuming drugs
C = Testing D = Dirty test E = Clean test

Hence, A + C = D
where B + C = E

The OP never said WHAT was being tested though.

Why your absolutely right. I guess now that I'm living in Riverside, drugs just sounds like par for anyone who asks about the possibility of results coming out negative.

Could be anything from carpet fiber to twinkies I suppose,,,,, but if I were a betting man,,,,,

I'm guessing that it's drug related too, he posted under "Drugs" afterall. What one needs to know is WHAT they tested for drugs, a biological sample from him, something that the police suspected was a drug or something that may have contained drugs.
