That's generally not a problem as 99% of the time as long as you were employed at the time you incurred the disability or illness, the LTD benefits will continued as long as you meet the definition of "disability" by the policy, regardless of your employment status.

And yes, it is legal.

If that doesn't answer the question then by all means post again.

If you have reason to believe that you'll be over your disability in 6 months, consider filing for unemployment benefits, ASAP. The quarter is set to change in just a little more than a week. It would be sad for you to lose a quarter of lag wages just because you waited. However, if you won't be better in 6 months, there can be legit reasons to wait.

So there's a calendar quarter that ends at the end of the 4th month of the year? When did things change so that we now have 16 months in the year?
