What is the name of your state? Michigan

I am currently renting a home in MI and had to relocate out of state for a job. My current landlord is holding me to my current lease. No problems. I understand I am under legal obligation. However, my movers will not be arriving for a couple of weeks and I had to leave the state early. I informed my landlord of this and they told me not a problem. Since my stuff is still in the house I have someone going over once a week to check on things. This week when he went over there, he found that my $300 air conditionar was taken out of the window and we have no idea where it went. As well as boxes were remobed from the house and put in the detached garage. Upon calling my landlord to find out why these items were removed as well as why was someone in the house without notifiying me, she proceeded to get very angry with me and hung up on me. She threatened to change the locks becuase I gave my key to someone and told me that its "her house" and she doesn't have to call me when she wants to enter. (My lease does not state that I can't give a key to out)

With me living over 1000 miles away this is just a hassle I don't want to deal with. So I have a couple of questions:
- Are they allowed to move anything out of the house without my permission?
- I thought that MI landlord-tenant laws require 24 hour notice for entry for non-emergency items
- Can she change the locks on me, as she is suggesting?
- Can I send a letter and just end this lease?

Thanks for any help someone can give me.What is the name of your state?

Have you contacted the police to make a police report about the missing item? DO so, AS long as you paid for that space the LL has no right to disturb anything. Have your friend continue to check on the place, if locks are changed call the police.
