What is the name of your state?illinois i was served with an eviction summons for my commercial space. the landlord is also suing for back rent. if a judgement is made against me and the landlord gets a writ of possession, how long do i legally have to vacate the space?do i have to pay the back rent immediately?

**A: it depends on the vacate date as stated on the writ and how nice the evicting sheriif is.

**A: no, but it would be good of you did.
 
If you are in Chicago:

1. Retain Chicago counsel that knows landlord/tenant law.
2. File a jury demand.

This will provide you with some time and give your lawyer time to work with you to determine if you have any defenses to the action, etc.
