What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts is where I reside. The Company that wrote the checks is a Chicago Based Company.

I was employed by Republic Window and Door, LLC. I received four reimbursement checks (each over 400.00) that were all returned for insufficient funds. Three were to reimburse for out of pocket expense, the fourth was for vehicle allowance. They have since filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy. They checks were a stamped signature by the president of the company. Do I have recourse? If so, do I need to file a complaint in Chicago, or can I file in MA?

Thank you in advance

Try to find out the name of the federal court where the bankruptcy was filed so you can submit a claim to the bankruptcy trustee for payment.
