What is the name of your state? Florida

Hello. I put my two weeks in and left my job on good terms. I went to turn in my office key as my employer had requested on the day paychecks were issued and they had informed me that they had mailed my check. I have yet to receive it and even contacted my old job and they said that I would have to wait 30 days because otherwise they would be out twenty dollars.

What are the laws in Florida Governing this and how do I get my paycheck!?

thank you,

Amelia

Florida has no State regulation on this. As a general rule, in States with no statute addressing when final wages must be paid, the courts have held that final pay is due no later than the next regularly scheduled pay date following the employee's separation date.

You can contact FL's DOL (the Agency for Workforce Innovation) and see if they can assist you.
