I received temp custody of my grandson at 2 yrs old. He was with me 3 yrs he is now 5 yrs old. I was diagnosed with cancer and decided to place him for adoption with his ex daycare teacher. He has been with his perspective adoptive parents since May 2000,and is not adjusting well, I have had unlimited visitation court ordered, to help with his adjustments. He saw me last nov 20 2000 and begged me not to let him go with them. I have been cancer free since April 2000. I stopped the adoption and petitiioned to adopt him myself. When I did this my contact with him was denied by the family , even though the adoption was not finalized, the atttorney for the perspective family told them not to let him see me,and i was told not to call him. Since May 2000 i have had phone contact with him 2 x a week and have visited every two months I live in NC He is in Fla. The dept of children and families have also given advice to the perspective family for me not to see him because he and I are so attatched. They have violated the court order for my visitation without reason to me. Can they be sued for contempt of court by violating the court order?? Please advise asap Thanks
