lawsuits no joke..I just got a call

I wanted to get out of the other thread. I will do my best to not make you guys blow your tops, but I just got off the phone with my mother, and she said that she heard through her friend who is the secertary of my lawyer, (that's how I found him so fast) that he talked to exs lawyer on Friday and that they are saying that they will start some lawsuits against me if I don't let the name change. Lawsuits like medical & dental. He had surgery when he was one, and per our child support agreement I owe half of everything ins. doesn't cover. He had a dental procedure that cost over 2,500. Other lawsuits too. They are saying they will take me back to child support, because she makes less money now than we first went. There were some others, like suing me for the kids theropy bills. IF I let the name change they will leave it all alone, and wait until they've been married long enough to file for adoption. Is there a waiting period, they've been together almost the whole time my kids been alive.

Can they do this with these lawsuits? I think you guys are a jinx to me! (kidding)

If you were ordered to pay half medical, you owe it, taking you back to court to get you to pay what you owe or for a modification of child support well within her rights, this is not a lawsuit per se. If anything only futher proves that she has not hounded you all these years. Let the name change go. Funny thing that you hear about this through the grapevine.

It's not a lawsuit, it's her enforcing the court order you have not abided by- while you were simultaneously abanding your child physically and emotionally.

I say: HA HA HA HA HA

I hope she makes you pay what you were court ordered to pay in the first place AND continues to fight for the name change because it's probably what's best for the son. Afterall- I think you have a slim to none chance of winning the name change either way since the child never had YOUR last name to begin with!! (And I hope the stress resides so her hair doesn't fall out anymore- but for some karmic reason- YOURS begins to fall out!)
