What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Kansas
The paperwork I received is a bit confusing. It appears I only need to show for my coourt date to dispute the charges, which I'm not really. The atty had promised to lower the rate and did not but I assume its easier just to pay. The confusing part is that it said I had 14 days to respond and court date is set for the 12th. I just need to know if I'm not disputing it if I have to show or the appropriate way to respond saying I agree to the charges. I emailed him informing id have a check by Friday for him so I'm just not sure! Any help is appreciated

My payment will be a coupe days after. That's the reason for my question about the 14 day respond period

Ah. I didn't get that. :/

In any case, respond by saying that you will pay the debt by such-and-such-a-date.

As long as you pay before an actual court-date (which is not the same as the "response date"), you should be okay.

Okay ... do you mean a court date on January 12th? Or that the response date is January 12th?

Courts usually will lower your bill if you complain. He "promised" to lower his rate .. if you have this in writing & he doesn't do it then everything he says is suspect.
