My accident case was settled almost a year ago and my lawyer is still holding a nice amount of money in escrow. He has been paid for his services out of the settlement and said he needs to hold this money in case some of the doctors don't get paid from the insurance company. He was supposed to file a PIP arbitration 2 weeks after the case was settled but I don't know exactly what that means. He will not take my calls or return my calls and when I go to the office I am told he's out. I finally caught him out in front of the office and he said "we're working on it".
How long can this guy hold my money? Should I get interest on this money?
No doctors are coming after me for payment so what can I do?
