What is the name of your state? KY
During a divorce mediation, my mother said that she signed her husbands name to a document several months prior. Nothing came of the signing at all, though. When she was telling her laywer about it(who had already stated to me that he couldn't wait for her case to end)--he proceded to raise his voice and tell her that she was a felon. Actually it went exactly like this, "Now that you did that, you are a FELON!! If you don't give *husbands name* everything he is asking for, you are going to lose you job and go to prison. Is that what you want??!!" He kept on with this. Anytime she tried to "mediate" something in her favor, he would yell the same thing to her. I was there. He had her in tears and shaking. I didn't know if he was right or wrong--turns out he was wrong.
She ended up losing everything in the divorce AND having to PAY her husband money on HIS previous credit card debt!
She recieved a file from the bar association--but I was wondering if there is anything else she can do?
She is terrified to try to find a lawyer to talk about this with because this particlaur lawyer is a third generation "hot shot" in the city....
