What is the name of your state? Ohio

My lawyer has totally screwed me over. First she didn't get the paperwork turned into the court in time and my case was thrown out. She went back and appealed and THANK GOD they accepted it back in court.

Second thing she did wrong was she never filed correct paper work with Ford Credit (who my car was financed through) and nearly had my car repossessed. Had my father-in-law not let me borrow the money to pay them the $1000 they wanted not to take my car I would have been walking to work.

Now the case is over and Friday night I got a bill in the mail from a credit card company collection agency trying to collect money. When I contacted them they said they were not included in my bankruptcy! Here even though they were on my orignal paperwork, she never included them on my final court paperwork and I owe them almost $5000! I'm 8 months pregnant and soon I won't be working at all because I have no one else to take care of the baby. My husband doesn't make enough to even pay the few bills we have let alone the $300 a month the collection agency is demanding!

What do I do? I've tried contacting my lawyer and she doesn't respond. :mad:What is the name of your state?

Subject: Creditors not listed in bankruptcy

Question
Hello Mr. Hall,

After viewing my recent credit report, I have found that some of the creditors that I listed with the lawyer I used is not showing up as discharged through the bankruptcy. My husband and I filed in May of 2001, we live in the state of Illinois. I am concerned because if the attorney didn't write down all of the creditors we listed or if we forgot to list someone during that time( just by oversight) will these debts be able to be counted as discharged. Furthermore, my credit is suffering because many things are showing on my report from that thime as just hanging out there, like I am not doing anything about them. For the past 4 years I have been paying everything on time but those old debts are hanging over my head. What should I do?

Answer
It is possible, depending on the type of debts involved, that the debts were discharged even though they were not listed. It just depends on facts you don't state in your quesiton.

Call me if you like. I will not charge you just to talk on the phone. 214 779-3427
