during a personal injury suit, i had a lawyer who did nothing for 2 years. i fired him, he obtained a lein of 60% of the settlement amount. i had another lawyer "reminded" him of his original contract, and he agreed in writing to 35%. now he refuses to sign the check. what can i do, short of hiring yet another attorney and incurring even more fees?

~thanks

What check ???
the check from the insurance company..my settlement check. the second lawyer recieved it from the insurance co..it is written to me, and the 2 lawyers. the second lawyer signed it..but I cannot get the lawyer [[that I fired, to sign it]]......[at first, the agreement was that he write me a check from his account for the part which is mine........but after he saw the amount, he suddenly refuses. he is not asking for more $$, but will not sign. he wants me to sign the check, and leave it with him.....and he says he`ll send me part......]i don`t trust him enough to do this...he already took advantage of me once.......
