What is the name of your state Nebraska?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I don't think I hit said vehicle, so I'm looking for advice. I got a call from a friend saying that there would be a police officer coming over involving a hit and run by his place. So a friend and I went out to look at the vehicle. There was a dent that was on the bottom of the passenger door. I was around his place earlier that day and they claim that there was 3 witnesses that saw me hit it. But when I did leave his place I backed out at an angle, and the bumper would have hit, not the hitch. I also doubt there is 3 witnesses. They always make it look like they have more evidence than they really do. Nobody was outside, and no vehicles on the road. When my friend and I went back out there, there was three people standing outside. One of them was the guy that called to warn me. If he was one of the witnesses, he couldn't have. He was in the house when I left. If I did hit it, there is no way he could have seen me. His window has a big entertainment stand in front of the window, and the window to the door has a blanket over it. And if the other two people were witnesses I don't know how they could have seen me from the inside of their house, and they both would have had to have been looking out the window at the same amount of time.

When the officer showed up it was about 3 hours later, and I could have just pulled off the hitch if I thought I hit it. I was outside waiting for the officer when he showed up. I told him I had a 3 hour heads up. He asked who called and just gave me a really weird look. The guy that called me put this officer under an investigation so they don't get along at all. This kind of leads me to believe that he was the one that called it in. Now I don't think this guy is trustworthy. He actually got let go from a construction company because the owner didn't trust him. In the 3 hours I had before he got there I could have easily pulled the hitch.

Another thing is that there are tons of errors on my ticket. Address is incorrect on my dl as well as expiration date, make says Ford Ford, no model, hair color is wrong (I'm bald, but this says brown), Also the biggest mistake is the date when I got the ticket. I was there on 5/26/16 and the ticket says 5/25/16. Are all those errors enough to get this thrown out? Maybe since the officer and my friend don't get along, maybe he did this on purpose.

There isn't any video evidence, and I honestly think this is going off the word of one person. The officer said that the angle of the hitch was wrong but said that could be because of the angle that the pickup was sitting.

So basically what is my best defense against this? What is a good lawyer in Eastern Nebraska that deals with these types of cases? If convicted what do you think will realistically happen? I read you can get one year in jail and a $1000 fine. But in 10 years I don't have any accidents or moving violations of any kind. I don't even have anything on my CSA 2010 score. The only thing I have is a $10 parking ticket.

Thanks in advance. I appreciate any input!

I have a quick question. I got ahold of a lawyer. After reading the official report one guy is a lying sack... I know this guy will lie under oath to make me look bad. My question is that this is Nebraska, and he is moving to Iowa. Can he be summoned to court if he lives in another state???
