I received a ticket for making a left turn on a "no left turn before 6pm" sign in Los Angeles, CA. My concern here has to do with the insurance ticket I received. My girlfriend was not feeling well that day, so I decided to drive her car. When pulled over the officer asked for proof of insurance and I made it clear to the officer that the car was not mine, that it was my girlfriends car sitting next to me, and then I provided him proof of insurance for the car registered under her name. He said that I needed to have my own insurance even if I'm driving someone else's car. (Im not a regular driver, this was a one time thing) He then issued me an insurance ticket (16028 (A) vc). Also, just to clarify the left turn ticket was traffic code 22101 d vc and I do have insurance but it stays in my own car.

He marked both as non correctable. What can I do in this case? It's my first ticket and my court date is coming up soon. The fine is also close to $1,200 and I can't afford that. Also I wanted to take traffic school to avoid it going on my insurance record as a point.

Any and all help would be appreciated.
