Noooo, it's not me, it's the husband.
I've been attempting to work with IRS to get to the bottom of several tax leins from 89,90,91...leined in 94. Of course w/interest and everything else they tack on, the bill was over $11,000. Got the run around, no one had any idea, requested copies of the return, don't have them, does that mean there was nothing filed...guess so they say...I have no less then 12 letters that say different things from different people. Two years later finally get ahold of someone who say, nope, he didn't file, so they did for only taking him as a deduction (he would have had 4). Apparently 89 is a moot point now. But for 90 & 91, if he files these tax returns, could he see a refund of the money that he has paid? He would have gotten a refund for both those years but paid approx $9,900.00 (in the last 2 years).
Thanks for any help on this one. I've already ordered the back tax packages, just have to convince the employer to cough up the back W-2's.
