What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Washington.
I put on a mountain bike race series that is in it's fourth year. The tracks are on land owned by a private timber company. We carry a significant amount of event insurance that covers us and them. Recently they said that we need to become a non-profit in order to reduce their liability. I cannot find any information that this is the case.
