My Mother-in-law recently was admitted to a nursing home for rehab I don't think she will be able to return home. My husband and I discovered she has over $6,000.00 in credit card debt and possibly more. If my husband becomes her P.O.A. will we be liable for the balances on these credit cards.
She has no assets and receives SSI and a Widows Pension. Which is a total of $600.00 a month.

No. Make sure your husband knows how to sign papers correctly so that he does not inadvertently become a guarantor.
