What is the name of your state- Maryland

Last week I was driving with my phone in my hand. I wasn't talking or texting, but I did have it in my hand. I was pulled over and I accepted the ticket because I shouldn't have had it in my hand. The officer asked for my license and registration, which were both valid...or so I thought. He proceeded to tell me that my license was suspended in August by the Medical Advisory Board. When I renewed my license, I answered a question that triggered an inquiry by the Medical Advisory Board. They normally send me a form to have my doctor fill out and I go about my business. According to the Medical Advisory Board, they mailed the form to my old address. I moved 2 years ago and immediately changed my address on my license in 2014. I was arrested, processed, had my mugshots and fingerprints taken, all because the Medical Advisory Board never received the form back. I obviously couldn't mail it back because they sent it to the wrong address.

I was just told that if they decide to reinstate my license, I will have to reapply for my license ($84) and pay all over again. I will also need to hire an attorney because this is a jailable offense. There is also no sense of urgency. I am unable to get to work, school or doctor's appointments.

Is there anything that I can do besides sit and wait?

You created the problem by not promptly advising the DMV of your address change, as I'm sure you are required to do, so please don't try to blame the system.

If there is no sense of urgency, as you say, then just wait.

I'd start looking around for attorneys if I was you.

The OP states that he "immediately" changed his address on his license in 2014. That seems fairly prompt to me...
