What is the name of your state? NH
I had a contractor build a small addition onto my house. The work is very poor and needs to be done again. To re-do the work it will cost me about 20 to 25,000. I wrote him a letter telling him how I feel and he said he's not doing it again. The town inspector failed a lot of his work. I told him I would have to take him to court for damages and he said "Go ahead, I will file bankruptcy" . I talked to my attorney about this and he said, he can do that and we will get almost nothing.
Would it be possible to put a lien on HIS house to get my money back ? I know it may be many years but it's the principle of the matter. OR would it be better for me to take him to small claims court. What is the max you can sue for in small claims court ?

Thank You
