For the pasr 18 years I have lived as wife, without marriage to the man I am now ans have been for the last 7 years of the 18, his only caregiver. He has Alsheimers and is partly paralized on his left side. We have seperate accounts and no pappers were ever signed, but I have been signing his bank check for 18 years, and putting mymoney as well as his into both our accounts with no real proof that all the money was mine or his, not thinking that anything would ever happen like they are happening now. His childeren are demanding his checkbook, bankstatements, and all reciepts, to where the money has gone.
We did have wills made out in 1986, didn't sign them as we did not get married, family (his) protested, and I could not go forth with it, so we live as huspand and wife. I need to know please what are my rights here? Please tell me that I do have some. I am in Fear of loosing all that I have built with this man, by his childern. He is still alive by the way!
The children have requested the above reecords the day before christmas, and with the holidays I am having a really hard time getting advice over the phone from local atterneys. If they want to see my personal checkbook do I have to let them see it?
please.......
