Me and my ex-fiance has lived together for about 5 years. The first three were in an apartment which was leased in my name only. Once we became engaged we decided to purchase a home. The home is financed in my name and so are all other expenses that come along with that as far as utilities, insurance, etc. There is nothing associated with him at this residence, other than the personal mail he receives at this address. I broke off the engagement and I have asked him to move out. He agreed to the move at first, but now is doesn't seem to want to go willingly. I have considered calling the police to get him to leave the house, but I don't know if I actually have the right to do that. We live in the state of Arkansas and I want to know if he has any legal rights to this property. Is it within my legal rights to have him forced out of the home? I don't want to get him into any trouble with the police, I just want him out.

Please help!!!!!!!

How would I go about filing an eviction notice, and since the house is in my name and not his then he has no claim to the property right?

One day after he goes to work, change the locks. Petition for a restraining order, out of fear of what he may do when you do change locks and have him served at work the same time/day you change locks.

This way he can't come to the house and vandelize it, or break in while you're at work.

But the question still remains, does he have any legal rights to this property since he has lived there with me for the past two years since the house was purchased?

I wouldn't think so, especially if his name isn't on any documents pertaining to the house. Of course he could take you to court for maintenance he has done to the house, and recoup lost monies. But I doubt he can take the house away from you.
