When are location releases need in New York City? Do I need to get releases from retail businesses that I happen to film in passing as a character is walking down the street? (businesses very much in the background) Or are releases only needed for locations where action takes place? Such as from a coffee shop if we shoot a scene at the counter or outside the entrance.
