My ex-husband got his green card while we were married. He had to pay child support and then was taken back to pay medical expenses as well on his daughter. He decided no and then left. We have not seen him in 6 years or better. child support cannot find him and have given up saying he probably got a new name and social security number. Is this possible with a green card and what not? Just curious. Daughter is devasted over not seeing her dad. I, personally could care less for fear when he sees her again he will try and take her out of country.

He can not get his GC changed.. He can still show it as proof he can work and some companies may not check closely enough. Do not allow him any further visitation. Go back to court now and file for sole custody with no court ordered visitation. It will make things easier if he ever did take your child.

If you know his Alien number then contact the INS. Hell, contact them anyway and let them have his SSN and the details..

Thank Usdeeper, didn't realize I could apply for sole custody, that helps another situation I am in. I have no clue where is or works so can't notify insurance company, he never got any on her. His Social Security number is everywhere and been run through and they cannot find him anywhere. I will jump on the sole custody though. Thanks again! :)

Also remember that if there is a court order in place for CS, then that debt never dies.. so even if he appears in 10 years time then you still hound him into court. Also, if there is someone else to adopt, you could also get a judge to force an adoption if you can prove that the father has abandoned the child.

Good luck.
