I live in Georgia and have been to court because my sister in law wanted custody of my husband and got it because I could not get my previous divorce papers in time for the probate hearing so i lost temp custody of him and now that I have them I can no longer afford the lawyer I have because I get SSA and SSI which is less than 5oo a month.
The lawyer I had talked with my sister in law's lawyer and gave them permanat custody of him so we could appeal it and we did but she had it dismissed. My husband was in an accident Oct.17,2000 and was incapaciated at the time. He is now talking and doing things on his on. They put him in a resting home ...out of sight out of mind.. he needs to be back at a rehab. and home with me where I was doing all of his care taking. The only reason they have him is because I couldn't produce the papers I needed then and can now because it took me time to send off for them out of state. Do I still have legal rights to him seeing how I am still legally married to him and she has custody of him? How can I get a lawyer that will fight for my rights instead of hendering me from getting my husband back?
