Hello,

I have my kids 50% of the time and have to pay my Ex child support $325 for 2 kids because I make more money. The kids are with me 2 weeks out of the month. How will things change, if any, for the short term on child support? I am still employed until end of Feb that is when I will lose my job. I am actively looking for the next position. Can anyone advise as to what I am expected to do. I am hoping that I will find a new job soon but just in case it is taking longer than expected what am I up against?

With unemployment money as income only I will no doubt bring in a lot less than what my ex is making. I need to understand what the law requires me to do as I will be set back temporarily with the money.

Thanks in advance.

If in fact you don't find employment soon , or there is a substantial difference in income , the Law requires you to file a modification of child support Petition , and go to a hearing , otherwise the CS obligation amount will indeed stay the same
