Did your father leave a will and was it probated in probate court?

Who was the executor, and was the executor a relative or an attorney?

Are you saying that you don't remember the name and address of the bank where the safe deposit box is?

More explanatory details, please.

T-bills are handled very particularly and the money is usually reinvested/returned directly to the person's bank account and there is no paper bond that is kept separately like a savings bond, so he may have gotten this money returned while he was alive or whoever handled his bank account after he died may have gotten access to it.

You can contact the Treasury Department at 1-800-722-2678 and select option 5 to speak to a customer service representative who may be able to answer your questions and get this researched for you if you know the decedent's SSN, date of birth and name and address of his bank.
