What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Wisconsin, However the legal case took place in Arizona and IL.
I hired a lawyer In Arizona when I was presented with a law suit from an attorney in Il, and fowarded to him all documentation pertaining to the case including the Lien from the IL attorney.
After several hearings, and tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees we decided to settle with the plaintiff for $8,000. With in one week of settling we were presented with the law suit again in IL even though the plaintiff signed a relase. It appears that my attorney did not go through the plaintiffs attorney when he settled so the IL Attorney filed the exact same suit in IL.
When I contacted my AZ attorney he told me that I need to now contact an IL attorney to defend me. I did so and $8000 in legal fees and another settlement of $4500 followed. Not to mention the 40+ hours of missed work.
Here is my question, Wouldn't the first attorney be liable for Errors and Omissions or Malpractice. IF so how do I go about filing a claim.
