Can anyone tell me if one is married in Mexico, does the U.S. (the state of Texas) recognize the marriage or does one need to file paperwork with their county of residence before it is recognized by the state? Also, if the marriage is not recognized by the state, can the parties involved say without recourse that they are single and not married? Thanks in advance for any help.

Any legal marriage in another country is legally recognized in the US. No paperwork has to be done.
